Jan 30th

Found my first ever MEALY REDPOLL at Vincent's View this morning. The bird stood out from the rest as notably paler and larger. Luckily it wasn't shy, and was the closest redpoll in the flock of lessers.

Jan 10th

Warren Hill: 63 WAXWING [Initially seen at 12:20 between Gerard Close Entrance and Hatton Close Entrance. Flock were visiting trees on edge of park and TV aerials of adjacent houses before settling in the large oak on Finsbury Road. Birds were flushed by a Sparrowhawk soonafter and could not be relocated until 14:15, when they returned to the oak], 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Nuthatch [Garden feeder on Finsbury Road]

Warren Hill: 4 WAXWING [Seen briefly from home at 12pm and again at 2pm in trees along the edge of the park between Gerard Close Entrance and Hatton Close Entrance], c.80 Redwing, 2 Lapwing 2 [flying high over Woodland] 1 Common Buzzard [S over Woodland being mobbed by Carrion Crows]
